The Beams is my alt-country project with Brandon Smith. It started out with Brandon playing a few songs for me in my dorm room in college and I whipped out a guitar and played along. The result was instant chemistry. We decided to record an EP, and thus, The Beams was born.
The 6 song EP called Two Weeks In May was really fun to make and sounded good, so eventually we started work on a full length album, Across The Heart. Being a multi-instrumentalist, I recorded many of the band parts myself (the first of what would become a staple in many of the productions I worked on). I also produced and engineered the album, with assistance from Brandon and Daniel Mostovoy.
We pooled our talented friends together to lend their skills on the recording. The credits for Across The Heart are:
